Hi

I've got a Netgear GS348T switch and a HP 2910-al that I need to pass a couple of VLAN's across. I have set the VLAN's on my Draytek router and on both switches which works fine. However when I try to link the 2 switches I'm not receiving an IP address. I've got the Draytek plugged into the Netgear which has a port 28 Tagged for the 2 VLAN's and ports 43 and 44 untagged. On the HP I've got port 5 Tagged and ports 6 & 7 untagged. Can anyone shed any light on what I need to configure to get the 2 switched working together?

Cheers

I've got port 48 on the Netgear plugged into port 20 on the HP. Do I just need to make both those ports tagged with the VLAN's?

Yes - assuming similar to my netgear swtich, the port linking the two switches needs to be a tagged member of both VLANs with a similar configuration on the HP switch.

Have the switch to switch link configured as a trunk, then configure the host ports with whatever VLAN you want that host on.
