VLAN Help

Hi

I was wondering if someone could shed some light on a network issue I am having? Setup is as follows

Draytek 2952 router with 2 subnets
10.0.0.0/24 is the main network
10.0.10.0/24 is on a VLAN with an ID of 10
Port 4 of the Draytek has both networks assigned is plugged into a port on a 8 port TP-Link switch on Port 1 with both networks tagged
This then goes to another 16 port TP-Link switch on Port 1 with both networks tagged and then the switch is split with some ports untagged for 10.0.0.0/24 and some ports for 10.0.10.0/24
If I plug a laptop into a port untagged for 10.0.0.0/24 I get an IP address, Gateway etc from the correct subnet but I cannot get internet access or ping the gateway address
If I plug into a port untagged for 10.0.10.0/24 I get an IP address, Gateway etc from the correct subnet and I have internet access and can ping the gateway

Can any see anything wrong in by config (very basic I know) that would mean I wouldn't have internet access from the 10.0.0.0/24 subnet?

I'm not familiar with TP Link or Draytek devices.

But to confirm 10.0.0.0/24 is VLAN1?

When you say your router has a port with both VLANs assigned, what do you mean by this? Can you configure it to be VLAN 1 untagged and VLAN 10 tagged - A trunk port will have it's own native VLAN. Do the same on the TP Link.

You mention you get an IP address on both subnets, what is your DHCP Server?

Would also be worth looking at NAT and your routing side of things.

Yes 10.0.0.0/24 is VLAN 1

The router has both VLAN 1 and VLAN 10 on Port 4 of the Draytek so VLAN 1 is untagged and VLAN 10 is tagged

VLAN 1 and VLAN 10 are on a trunk port to switch 1 and then over to switch 2

DHCP for 10.0.0.0/24 is on a Windows Server

DHCP for 10.0.10.0 is the Draytek Router

Take the TP-Link switch out of the equation for a moment, if you connect a client to a port on the Draytek that's untagged in VLAN1, do you have internet access?

Which VLAN is the DHCP server for VLAN1 in?
