Hi,

Been playing around with vlan but can not get it to work, setup is...

Virgin Hub 5(Router Mode) > Tp-link sg1016pe(into port 1) >Port 9 - Netgear WAX610 AP

Have a default ssid on the Ap called wifi1 which works for everything and setup as vlan1 management

Created a new ssid wifi2 and gave it a custom vlan Id of 200

On tplink switch under vlan created a 200 with access to port 1 only

Now, try to connect to wifi2 and it will not stay on as does not seem to be getting an op address?

Hi, my netgear Ap has the ssid vlan Id setup as 200 it is vlan compatibke as is the switch, the router being VM does not, but surely AP and Switch can handle this?

Basically, I want my ssid wifi1 to access everything on network and wifi2 purely to only have Internet access and no access to any of the other devices either wireless or connected to switch

Just experimenting in vlans really.

OK, so just to clarify all three devices Modem/Router, Switch and AP all need to be VLAN capable for VLAN to work at all, and if that's the case then I turn Virgin Hub into modem mode supplying a Router prior to the switch and maybe install DD-WRT onto the Router
