VLC Media Player In Vista - Taskbar Becomes Visible Occasionally

I use Vista Ultimate 64 (with all updates) and VLC Media Player (latest version). It works fine in every way except that sometimes the Taskbar will become visible. This can be very distracting and disrupting when watching a video. I know I could just use a different media player but I like VLC the most out of a great number I have tried, including ones you pay for such as WinDVD and PowerDVD.

I don't know why this is happening or how to stop it so I'm hoping that somebody could please help me.

Have a look on their forums. There seems to be several others experiencing similar issues.

Thanks for suggestion and link. I've already tried all the things suggested in that thread though and none of them worked. For me even when using a standard monotonal background there is an issue.

Just use Media Player Classic with ffdshow. Never had any problems on XP or Vista

I've used that quite a lot but I prefer VLC.
