VLC media player only maximizes on my primary monitor

I'm using VLC to play my media files but the trouble is it will only maximize on my pc monitor which is set to primary, rather than on my tv which is secondary. It doesn't matter if i open the file from the tv or not, it will always shoot across to the pc monitor when max. So short of setting the tv as the primary every time i wish to watch something, is there anything i can do?

try using kmplayer i found it much better than vlc

thanks, but i've sorted my problems with mpc hc and am using that now
