vlc picture issue

when trying to view a video on vlc the picture looks muck, ive tried adjusting my screen resolution but it makes no difference, i'm assuming a setting in vlc may be the cause?

its like 60% of the videos i have m8, cant all be corrupt.

this particular 1 is a BR rip, not sure what the other 1's were.
