Hi all, I was wondering if there was a way to view how long a vlc video has been watched for. The video has been deleted but I'm curious to see how long it was watched for.
I have saved the debug file but I can't see where the information is.

I know it's a bit of a strange question but hopefully someone can help

Paste %APPDATA%\vlc\vlc-qt-interface.ini into the address bar of any explorer window and look for the [RecentsMRL] line then the filename of the deleted file. This stores the final point the video was watched to in milliseconds. You'll have to count how many points up to the filename to match with the correct time in "times=" then paste it into any online "seconds to HH:MM:SS" converter removing the last 3 digits it if doesn't accept milliseconds.

Thank you so much for your reply. I'm not gonna lie your knowledge is far beyond my feeble mind.

Just to check, Will this show how long has actually been viewed or where it has been skipped to. ( The resume bookmark time)

Yes it's just a resume point for the last time you stopped watching so assuming you never skipped it would technically be the watch time for the session. There's no way to find out overall watch time as in how many times the file was opened and for how long each time. VLC could be sending telemetry data back to some server of everything people are watching for their own private use but that's nothing the end user could access.
