VLC Remote access and Zone Alarm free issues.

I'm currently using Windows 10 and trying to connect the VLC remote access app to my desktop. If I disable Zone alarm then it connects right away no problems, if Zone alarm is on it can't connect and I'm not sure what to do.

The program restrictions for VLC in the program list are all green that I can see so no idea what else I need to change, can someone help me get this sorted please, I can't find the answer on google.

Just use the Win 10 firewall if you really need a software firewall.

Where have you read that? It's perfectly adequate.

Do you not have a hardware firewall on your router anyway?

Seriously nobody uses software third party firewalls any more. Windows firewall is more than enough and does a great job.

Dont tell me you have Norton installed also...

No I do not have Norton, I do have AVG anti virus though. I'm sorry maybe I've been misinformed but I was always led to believe that Windows firewall was essentially useless.

It wasn't great in the days of XP. Vista, Win7, 8 and now 10.. its fine.
