VLC with Vista - Blank Video playback.

Am just getting a blank screen although can hear the audio playing.

Using an ATI X800 with the latest Cats for Vista x64.

Any tips?
 
Damn, I was going to try that tonight to see if it would work..guess not. Got the same card, X800Xt here.. let me know if you find a fix..
 
Same thing here - got sorted though

You need to go into options > video, click on the show advanced (in the bottom corner) then the rendering options appear - change from <default> to either OpenGL of Directx (iirc) - test a file as one of these causes the screen to flash and the video to run slowly - the other works a treat. (At work atm so can't remember the exact options to choose - but that's where you should be looking)
 
Cheers mate. I had a look and its solved the problem!!!! :D :D :D

Preferences >Video > Output Modules *tick advanced options*
Select from dropdown= Directx


*Found that directx doesn't scale to window on double-click. OPENGL works though*
