Just wasted 30minutes of my time on the phone to Virgin Media to achieve nothing.

I booked installation of a phone/TV/broadband package 3 weeks ago and booked an installation time of 8am-10am. I then recieved an e-mail welcoming me and informaing me of the instalation date that I chose but a time of 8am -1pm. I cannot be at home for this whole time and that is why I chose 8-10. If this option was not available I would have selected a different date.

So, phoning up VM to try and change this slot. Get through to installation department, give them my address, phone number, new VM account number just to hear they have never heard of me or my account number and have no installation booked for me. All the guy on the other end can advise me is to speak to their Sales department. Get put through to Sales and after about 10minutes of searching their systems and asking me more questions he finally finds me on the system. I explain what I want to do just to get an answer of: "I'm sorry sir I work in telephony sales I cannot do anything anything abot web sales. Please contact our installation department".

No point in that then as they don't know anything about my installation. Explained this again to the Sales person who says he will transfer me to Customer Service department and I already knew this is going to end up no where. And then when they finally answer the phone it is an Indian call centre! At least they said they can change the date, but only to a 8-1pm slot and I will have to wait another 3 weeks for a day that suits me.

So I will just make a plan for my original data and time and hope my epxerience with their installation team is better than their service trying to get a new customer. I just hope this is not a sign of what is to come with VM.
 
Their reputation does tend to be a bit hit and miss, but I have not had a single problem with them.
 
Yes for tech support/I know I need an engineer to come visit me, and i don't want to speak to Trevor the Indian call centre guy for 15 minutes, whilst he checks my modem is switched on problems, the newsgroup is really the only way to get any thing done fast and effectively...

Never tried this crap you are suffering from tho...
