I have tried everything I can think of and I cannot get TWO xbox 360's online at the same time.

I've been onto VM AND their forum. And the problem seems to be the all in one hub. Ie router and modem in one box.

Has anyone got two xbox's on a netgear all in one router and modem???

One is strict nat. The other is open

Looked into this and apparently the router doesn't support it. I'm not a mega wizz kid when it comes to networks. But I checked and I don't think it has this option.

We moved house and got. New all in one wonder box. Modem and router. As they said it was an upgrade. Over Xmas we realised the problem

All modem/routers should support uPnP, have a look in your port forwarding options.

If not; Xbox LIVE requires the following ports to be open:

* Port 88 (UDP)
* Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
* Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
* Port 80 (TCP)

Note If you cannot chat with someone using Video Kinect, you might need to open port 1863 (UDP and TCP).

I would suggest setting up static IPs on each Xbox,

Just been on the virgin media forum. And I missed a whole thread dedicated to this modem/router problem. There is loads of posts. I have to wait for a firmware update which they are making to fix this problem. Or get a seprate modem and router package. But then someone said they have turned off the frequency for the modem. What the he'll that means I do not know :(

You can't forward ports to 2 different xbox's though :/

Indeed, which is why you'll need uPNP. The fact that one xbox is already showing as 'Open' and where I assume the OP hasn't already forwarded any ports, leads me to believe in fact the router is supporting uPNP but perhaps it's buggy or whatever?

Been reading up AGAIN :( would I be able to use the Negear rubbish as just a modem? I found this guide?

OK, here we go step by step as I remember

Plug your new cable (not ADSL) routers WAN port into any of the LAN ports on the VMDG280.
Plug your PC into the VMDG280 and access the management page. 192.168.0.1
On the LAN IP page look at the DHCP lease info, you should see your PC and the second router. Take the MAC address of the router and add it to the DHCP reservation section and give the second router an IP address of say 192.168.0.10.* Use ipconfig/all in a cmd window to find the MAC address of your PC if your not sure which is which.
Now go to the DMZ host page and enter the same IP address. This means that the* VMDG280 will pass all traffic to the second router without any checks or filters.
Turn off the second router and back on again, plug your PC into the second router, login and set its login page to "Does your Internet connection require a login" to no and then you should see the WAN or internet as 192.168.0.10.
Your good to go.
Don't forget to disable wireless on the VMDG280 and use the wireless on the second router ...

There will be a firmware fix for this in the next few weeks.

There is also firmware coming out that disables the router and makes it function as a SACM, though there is currently no time for this.
