Hello folks, wasn't sure where to put this but Ill try here first.

Heres the situation.

I like using Outlook on my desktop and like keeping records of all my emails in the archive file on my local PC. Hence I used POP3 to download my emails.

I also accessed my emails from my iPad, also via POP3, and somehow there was a settings in the Virgin Media account that allowed me to delete emails from my iPad which then would not be present on the server.
I also would be able to leave those emails which I wanted so that when I get to my desktop and downloaded my emails, it would end up on my local archive file and no longer be present the next time I accessed the emails from iPad.

Now VM have started using the Google platform and things have changed...

So I'm not sure if what I had before is now even remotely possible.

I understand IMAP is an option but I don't want to go down this route on my desktop.

I hope Ive conveyed my point across, I hope there is a way around this. Many thanks.

Assuming it's the same layout as Gmail, press the cogs button then go settings, then go to "Forwarding and POP/IMAP", you can enable POP3 through there.

VM still use POP3, though you might have to log into the webmail interface to enable it. However, they don't support deletion of emails via POP3, so you can download/delete via POP3, but the emails are still there and available if you were to log in via another client or IMAP.
