VM STM Trial

It's actually a better system by the looks of things no restrictions till 4pm-9pm on weekdays and if you do mess up your timing it quits at 11 regardless of when you went over.

Makes you wonder why they bother rolling out these 20/50Mbit services if they can't meet the demands when people actually start using their connections =/

All people use their connections for is to check email, shop & use facebook

So it seems to Virgin anyway.

Its bad that if you went over your limit at about midday on the weekend then your stuck with the slower speed all day.

Only good thing is that it releases at 11 so you could start a download at 22:40 and never hit the limit.

from what i remember from last time i read it the STM applied from 10am till 3pm then 4pm till 9pm... that was including upload and download periods.. I dont mind STM at all really.

Have you actually bothered reading the OP, or the link provided?

Yet they play the numbers game - Higher speeds for doing things that can be done adequately on a 2mbit line  I honestly can't think of what their long-term ideals could be when they come out with stuff like this just weeks after unloading 50mbit connections.

I have been with VM/NTL for years but I find myself wanting to go over to Sky more and more now.

yea i read it on another forum before this one. yes if they follow through and roll out the trial stm over their whole network my capacity during STM is cut down but im on 2mbp (previously 20 until offer expired) so it doesnt make too much difference, and even if i hit stm i have 1mbp...
