VMware accross more than 1 computer?

would it work if i created a vmware image with F@H installed and ran it on several systems from a portable HDD? or would F@H get confused with changing cpus

I'd recommend you keep the same CPU type - X2/Core/Core2 etc. If you do that, then yes, and I already have (built an image on a machine with a console and moved it to a machine in a datacentre).

When you move/copy the image, VMWare will know and ask you if you want to change the ID of the image. Do this only if you're copying (i.e. keeping the original).

If you are copying, you should also delete the machine ID (machinedependent.dat) file and any current workunits in the copy, otherwise you'll 'do a magman' and end up with half your farm processing the same WU.
