I need to run lots, (maybe 10 or more) VM sessions of WinXP on a single machine. How would I go about making a windows installer that is both fast and as small as possible to install on these machines. What kind of performance am I likely to get from each session? They will need to run relatively low intensive software, but I am unsure how the performance will drop as I add virtual machines.

is it for home use?

could use nlite to strip all junk out, each install could be about 300-500 mb disc space used then

they'll need about 192/256 mb each to run half decently

Thanks, nlite looks pretty nifty, cant believe I havn't found it till now! Just creating a stripped windows installer now and will then create lots of VMs and see how the ol girl holds up...
