I'm using VMWare with Vista installed. The bloody thing's crashed and won't restart or shutdown. I've nothing on-screen other than the wallpaper. How do I force the thing to power down?

Cheers

iirc, look under options (or was it tools), there should be an option to basically close that program with a force shut-down (it's an option along side close/suspend the VM when you close the program...

sorry, I'm not using OS X at the moment so can't do a step by step.
(Running around Ubuntu land...)

You may not be able to, if it's in a Suspended state? One of my Fusion machines was like that and other was corrupted - my fault after trying to run Fusion and Parallels at the same time. :(

In the end, I had to replace it with a backup copy.

Fortunately, I decided to load my new copy of Vista yesterday on Parallels which seems to be still working OK.
