Ok, I used disk utility to partition my macbook HD into 220GB Mac OS extended journaled, and the other 12GB in fat32 (i couldn't choose ntfs here). I then ran bootcamp and booted my XP Pro disk to start the install, and at this point it gives you the option to format the drive before installing XP. I did this and chose to format in NTFS rather than FAT32. Next i installed VMware fusion 2 in OSX and started the ntfs XP pro sp3 bootcamp partition no problem.
Now... am i missing something here? as when i googled for this all the threads seemed to say this isn't possible as osx and therefore vmware cant write to the ntfs partition and it wont work.... BUT it seems to be working for me? I cant find anything on the vmware website saying it supports ntfs bootcamp partitions now.
Are there any negatives to what I've done here? as it seems like the best way to have it, but all the documentation seems to point you towards using fat32.
Cheers
