VMware Guided Consolidation analysis results

Hi

I've been searching for days now, trying to figure out why some of our servers are showing their performance stats in the consolidation results , but others (quite a lot) are not.

It's the same when we run the microsoft assessment and planning toolit. I get the error "Failed - Missing performance object type" on the same machines that are playing up in VMware.

No firewalls, authentication works as I get `some` results like the system summury - just no perfmon results.

Any ideas?

First point getting the obvious out the way: Is the perfmon service running on these servers? (it isn't always on automatic by default)

Everything is set to to manual, which is the same on servers that are working ok, I cant see any differences in services for those servers that are working, and those that arent.

Do the credentials being used have the ability to start services remotely? If they're on manual they'll need to be started to report data back.

Im using a domain admin account, so that should work.
