Hi quick question to Vmware users, if I installed Vista o/s and Vmware and then say XP+SP3, would it be possible while running Vista o/s to flick to XP+SP3 and run Classic Media player from there ?

May sound very odd why I want to do that, but thats since XP supports Video mirroring onto TV and better Video output under XP then on Vista....

Just wondering is such a thing possible ?

what?

whatever is displayed on the guest os desktop, will be output through vista anyway. it's a virtual machine. sounds like you need dual boot. and what's your problem with vista playing videos anyway?????:confused:

Sounds like you just need better drivers, if your running an older nVidia card this might be why. If you're using a laptop and a geforce go its even more apparent, if so use the laptop video2go site and see which drivers work best for you :) Some of them enable things that should already be there that you were familiar with from xp others don't not really sure what nvidia where playing at tbh.

Its a long story... but basicly Vista has disabeled Full Screen Video mirroring technology which ATI/Nvidia use to have, they still have that feature under XP. Basicly it means u double click a video file and it appears full screen on the 2nd display which u cant do under Vista.

So with Vmware id be technicaly looking to enable ATIs tv output under XP and still run movies from the media player within XP and hope it displays on the 2nd screen !

Am not sure it would work but I know lots have this issue.... proberly wont work guess ill have to really install both and try :)

yeah but sheer desperate lol

Couldnt get ATI drivers to load on the xp regardless proberly cos its all virtual, so never got a chance to try it anyhow.

Gone back to fresh copy of XP and all good again.
