VmWare which .exe ?

hey guys i use virtual box and its a great easy to use software, got windows XP on it.

wanted to try something which works better on vmware but not sure which file to download.

just like virtual box i want to install a OS, do i download vmware player or workstation?

Doenload VMware Server, from here...

http://www.vmware.com/download/server/

And get a key from here..http://register.vmware.com/content/registration.html .. it is free..

vmware workstation isn't free, has more features than vmware server but the average user isn't going to need them anyway.

vmware server, fully functional, free, allows you to create/configure and run multiple vms at once.

vmware player literally "plays" pre-configured machines. you can't create/configure the virtual hardware options using this. (well you can tinker with the config files in notepad but pointless when vmware server is free)

i prefer virtual box anyways...

yes virtual box is great!!!! i so needed to run a (on XP) app with usb and some on the forums helped me out.

i just want to try something on vmware
