Hi

A reasonable cost would be fine, but free preferred. On any paid solution there must be a free trial, as I'll give any suggestion here a go and see what works best for me.

I have 2 win10 home machines. I want the second to mirror the first, on startup, with a shortcut on the desktop to reconnect if necessary. Mouse input required on both machines. No file transfer etc functionality required.

I can achieve this easily with VNC, but get regular issues with it freezing.
I don't want it dependent on an internet connection, both machines are on the same LAN.

Thanks all!

How is everything connected together? I use RealVNC (mostly v5.3.2) at work, with all PCs going to the same switch and the connection is completely stable. We also use Remote Desktop as well for the virtual machines but I don't think W10 Home offers this.
I've switched from UltraVNC to TightVNC and having better results. I'll try RealVNC if any further issues. RDP no good because it doesn't support screen sharing, and I want both terminals to have shared input of the same display.

Teamviewer is pretty good and free for personal use. Also it can be configured to use LAN only connection - https://community.teamviewer.com/t5...sed-within-a-local-network-LAN-only/ta-p/4618
Thanks for the suggestion, from what I recall of using Teamviewer previously, you can't launch sessions in full screen, or on startup / from a desktop shortcut. It might make a good compromise though if things don't work out well with VNC. Just needs to be really idiot proof, so I don't get asked to help every time things have to be launched.
