Help!! A seemingly simply matter which I can't find the answer to.
I have a Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 LTS fileserver setup. I installed the desktop version for my ease of use but I'm getting to grips with the command line.
I have a 24" (1920x1200) screen on my main rig running Vista x64. When I need to administer the fileserver, I remote in using tight VNC. However the default screen resolution on the ubuntu server is also 1920x1200 (as it is connected to a different port on the same monitor as Vista).
What I want to be able to do is remote in at say 1280x1024 so it is completely windowed, allowing me to work on other things at the same time. How would I go about doing this? I tried the options of -geometry 1280x1024 in TightVNC but that didn't work. Are there any config files I can edit which would default to 1280x1024 on remote VNC sessions whilst retaining the 1920x1200 on local sessions?
Thanks!
