hey all. im lookin for a program i can useon my comp at home that will let me listen to my music from another computer if tha tmakes sence lol

basically i use ultra VNC a lot at uni to access my home computer and ive just thought that being able to listen to my music through something like VNC too would be good seein as i dont have an mp3 player

is there anythin around that will let me do that?

cheers

how do you mean???

as far as i know that wont help me at uni??? i access my comp through ultra VNC viewer (the standalone one). cant really do anythin else cos of crappy restrictions

though of streaming it using media encoder....that could work actually hmm

sorry, thought you had a solution for uni and now wanted to share between computers at home.

I'd suggest VLC - that way you could stream video if you felt the need aswell.

Hmm, after a similar program myself.

I'm after a program that allows me access/download home files from work - and vice versa. Any good suggestions?

Run an FTP server/webserver on your home PC?

VNC allows you to transfer files doesn't it? Doesn't the remote drives appear in windows explorer? Otherwise PC Anywhere will do it.

yes but i find its a bit flakey. my university drive i have as a netwrok place on my computer at home so i just browse to that through vnc to upload

Theres a program that will let u stream mp3s from your home pc using a web server type thing. Just opens the mp3 like it would for winamp radio or the like. One of my m8s set it up its very good. Ill find out the name and let u know.

Edit

He says:

zena, or reactor server which has zena built in as a module.
