I work from home quite a bit and usually SSH into my mac. However occasionally I like to actually access my machine. If I'm on my laptop, I'll obviously use screen sharing over company vpn.

However, if I'm on my Windows desktop, it isn't so easy (WinSCP and Putty solve my ssh/sftp needs). I've tried all the VNC's and settled on Tight VNC and have been using it for a while. However, using it today it's become really sluggish (my internet has improved if anything) and I keep 'losing' the connection (i.e. picture stays but doesn't update and is not interactive).

Any suggestions for a Windows method to access my belovéd mac would be greatly appreciated. Ideally something inbuilt on the mac end as I don't want to use anything like logmein etc.

Tried using Real VNC to rule out an application issue?

Also, have you forwarded port 5900?
Ports are open through the vpn (which I have to use), so that shouldn't be an issue.

Real doesn't even let me get past password. Click okay and it closes.

Also noticed that TightVNC disconnects instantly after I log into my mac. That is, connect over vnc, then on login box, login, then it disconnects me. I then load vnc again and it works fine, bar the stalling.

im lost as to why logmein isnt suitable i have mac and pc both home and work and even on iphone i can access all pc/mac stuff..
I'm not stricly allowed to instlal things like that at the work end, and have to use inbuilt things (e.g. screenshare or vnc).
