Hey, I have a Vodafone iPhone 3GS on contract, I am wondering do any of you know if Vodafone provide an official unlock so I can use my o2 sim. I have emailed them asking but no reply. :confused:

I'm sure legally they have to but there will be a fee. Ring them.

I'm pretty sure they will only allow this once the contract has finished - could be wrong - but that's my understanding

02 recently changed their perspective on this, so Vodaphone may also do so.

If you are on Twitter give their @VodafoneUK account a message. They seem very good plus there is the added benefit of it being public. If they ignore you they are doing so publicly which is very bad and why I don't think it ever happens.

They will not unlock your iphone, even for a fee.

Hi mccrum,

Unfortuantly we cannot unlock your iPhone, as they locked to the network that they are purchased on and need to be validated through iTunes.

+1, I assume Vodafone only will only start supplying unlocks after the first contracts expire (18 months from January)
