Hey, I've currently got a Motorola L6 and it's now died on me twice and been sent off for repair, and is now again developing problems. (It randomly restarts and then just says insert sim, have to wait ages before works again.)

Now from work I can get a Sony Ericsson K750i which i have liked since they came out and were circa £200+. I can get one for about £70 with £10 free air time so I'm probably going to go for that.

However it is on Vodafone, can i use my current 02 simcard or will it be locked to Vodafone?

If so how easy is it to get it properly unlocked? Tenner down the market or more than that?

Cheers for any help/advice.

Vodafone might be able to send you an unlock code (they did for me) and if that doesn't work then a google search will give you imformation on how to do it at home (for about £8).

Cheers guys.

Is there anyway i can find out if the phone is CID49? Is it to do with the firmware version or something else?

Some newer K750i models are CID49 which means that even the bloke down the market won't be able to unlock it (yet), instead you will have to get Vodafone to provide an unlocking code for you.

Nope. My CID49 Vodafone k750i was unlocked at my local market a few days after I bought it (about 6 weeks ago).

The only problem that CID49 k750i's had up until last week (compared to the CID36's) or so was being unable to flash to the w800i firmware. Even that is possible now, as I just flashed mine 2 days ago.

Ranek, take it down to your local and they should be able to unlock it for you :)

Ideal cheers.

02 rang me this morning and offered me £10 free airtime with a new phone, but work are doing the same deal.

Guy on phone said be worth popping in to see what deal they will do me though.

As i'm only PAYG can't see them doing too much :p

Still £77 with £10 free airtime and a 1gb mp3 player ain't too bad for a K750i, i remember them being like £299 when they first came out!

£77 brand new with 1gb memory? If so thats a great deal :)

I got mine for £80 with the standard 64mb memory!

Yeah they are still fantasic phones. You can do so much with them, its unbelievable :)

Sadly not, just a basic 1gb MP3 player from some unknown company!

Be nice if it did come with a 1gb memory card though!
