Looks like Vodafone are the next UK network to get the iPhone:

[Vodafone will sell the iPhone in the UK | Daily Telegraph]

I hope this one is true, as another provider in the mix will certainly bring lower prices through competition AND I can get vodafone reception at work (both 3G and 2G) but I don't get any coverage at all with o2.

EDIT: Vodafone have officially announced it at http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/mobile-phone/iphone-3gs Although it does say coming early 2010....

Price reductions?

Apple are known for their fixed price and no discount policy. All iPhones will cost the same for the hardware regardless of vendor.

The only room will be the rates and plans offered by the operators in terms of minutes and MByte.

Tis true

VODAFONE TO SELL iPHONE IN UK AND IRELAND

Vodafone and Apple today confirmed that they have reached agreement to bring iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS to the UK and Ireland in early 2010.

Beginning today, Vodafone UK and Vodafone Ireland customers can register their interest in iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS at www.vodafone.co.uk/iphone and www.vodafone.ie/iphone respectively. Pricing, tariffs and availability information will be announced locally in the future.

I wonder who will offer the best tariffs out of Vodafone, Orange and O2, once the they've all started selling it...

Excellent, I'm definitely dumping O2 quicker than you can say 'iPhone' when my current contract expires in a few months.

So with orange and t-mobile merging this only leaves 3 without the iPhone... Unless they're in negotiations too

Kinda hope 3 do get it cause im currently using them and have no issues. On PAYG with 3Pay which means free internet, free texts, free Skype2Skype and free 3to3 calls when you topup.

No issues with coverage either and going by Ofcoms maps, 3 seems to have the best 3G coverage or the same/very close to Orange.

Thank **** for that, no more moaning. Look forward to paying more than your current friends and family staff deal though. :D

Good news :) Looking forward to June/July next year already :p The fight for the best tariff for the next iPhone will be fierce - And should be good for us consumers :D

Gah, just signed a new 24month contract with O2. Might have to pay it off and make the switch back to Vodafone.

So you're willing to pay a grand to then switch to another network and take out another contract that'll be around the same price? (if another 24 month deal)

That's silly.

I was hoping for a (somewhat cheaper) way out but there's simply no way I'm going to be able to get out of it.

Oh well, at least I have the option in the future.
