Hi,

I've decided to treat myself to a nice bottle of vodka but can't decide what to go for. Budget of £35 max, been leaning towards Chase for some reason but then theres snow queen and Grey goose too. Considering I've only tried grey goose i figured someone here will have a better idea? Or should i just go for a bottle of finlandia at half the price?

Belvedere if you can find one in-budget. The only one I've found that compares to grey goose. Boru is nice, and pinky is a great alternative :)

I have a bottle of Chase and it is not really up to much. Ok with mixer but horrible neat, which kind of defeats the point of it.

My recommendation would have to be Snow Queen. The stuff is wonderful neat with a nice creamy aftertaste. First time I drunk it my friends freezer broker so we drunk it neat at room temp and were blown away with how smooth and tasty it is.

My main issue with Belvedere is that I once took a bottle over to Poland which is where it is made, and the locals had never heard of it. The producer is more famous over there for producing cheap stuff, not premium. If I had £35 to spend I would buy not one bottle, but two. LUKSUSOWA or WYBOROWA on the Polish side and some old school Finnish stuff called Koskenkorva.

I've got a bottle of Russian Standard Imperia that I'm working through at the moment. Very very smooth!
Bought it in Duty free in Iceland, unaware of how much money it is in the UK! Was about £16 in Iceland!

42 below is poor. I don't get why high end bars seem to have gone for it.
Presumably because it's an affordable, unpretentious, subtle-tasting vodka that drinks easily on its own and mixes well.

It's certainly a cut above the rest and up there with the best of the grain vodkas.

Cheers for the advice, looking for something to drink neat so 42 below is out! They had snow queen on offer at my local tesco but none left going to try another one tomorrow if they don't have it, ill probably give russian standard platinum a go

In that budget, I go with Grey Goose if drinking neat, Zubrowka if mixing (with fresh apple juice naturally).

Or save up and get a bottle of Kauffman Special Reserve.

I'd drink that neat at room temperature it's so good!
