Hi all, I'm hoping someone has some experience of this and can either help me fix the issue, or recommend a better alternative.

My 8 year old and I like to play co-op together, with him on a Series X and me on PC, both on the same network if it matters.

Typically we use the in game voice chat for games like Fortnite, but more recently we've been playing Valheim, so have opted to use the Xbox Party system. This has caused many headaches, as sometimes it works without issue, but more often than not we simply cannot hear each other. I have tried so many different things and not a single thing has stood out as being a cause for this. As I said, the fact it sometimes works just baffles me.

Any ideas what could cause this? Anyone else had similar issues?

Alternatively, is there something else we can use that is more reliable? I was thinking Discord, as I saw that this is integrated with Xbox now. But I can't see that option on the Xbox, possibly because he has a child account?

I just want to be able to load it up and have it work every time. Any ideas welcome. Thanks.

Edit: I've set up a Discord account for him with a fake date of birth, but I can't link it to his Xbox account because that has his real date of birth I think.
