Voice recognition software , spec me some ?

Hi Folks,
Its been many a year since I last tried (un-sucessfully) some voice recognition software ,
you know to speech to text and for stuff like launching progs , sending keyboard control signals etc.

Has anyone any experience of this , and which software would you recommend
based on you actually using it.

If you run Win7 its already built in and it's not that bad either.
