How does it compare to sea of thieves? If you’ve played that before.
I'll be honest, I only played Sea of Thieves for a few hours, but it wasn't my cup of tea. I can't remember enough to compare the two.
The general way things work is that you select a preset ship then select a mission. Missions can have multiple objectives. For example a quick easy mission might just have you ambush an enemy ship.
A multiple objective mission will have you ambush a ship, then jump to another area to steal information from an enemy sattelite. After that, jump to another area to protect a friendly convey.
Mulitple objective missions give better rewards but higher risks, since your ability to repair hull damage is limited, so attrition will eventually catch you if your careless.
There is crafting in mission, you can find resources and ammunition, from derelicts and destroyed enemy craft which can be used to make things like hull repair packs and new modules for ship.
At lower levels, your crafting option are VERY limitied, but after a few missions you can learn how to craft things like shield systems and gattling missle defences.
After a mission you lose all ship upgrades and resources collected. You start your next mission with the bog standard preset.
You earn XP which can be put into skills, like improving gun damage or engine speed when your piloting.
I've only put 5 hours into the game, but I've been enjoying myself, looking forward to unlocking new modules and ship presets to try out.
