ok i have just orderd a new pc, on the FAQ it says if i add a component the waranty is not void but it does say this
You understand that we have over 30 different measures in place to detect if a component has been moved/removed and if you have moved/removed a component, your warranty will be void. You are only entitled to add extra components to your computer.

so can they find out if the component has been moved/removed or if after adding a new component my pc get messed up and i take off the new component and the pc is still messed up?

well they will only know if its removed if when you take it in to get fixed the item aint their or the drivers havent been loaded up for the item cos the computer isnt working , but even then you could say that the drivers must have been wiped of or something like that

I bought a pre made PC, and it probably had something like this. However, when i received it, it was a stick of 512mb ram short. Quick phone call to them, they told me they are sending out a stick and asked if i know how to put it in. I said yup and I did just that. Whatever warranty terms it had, they didn't seem to care. And then the HD went kluplunk a week later, they sent someone out to replace the HD under the warranty. The PC's side panel just clips off real easy, there's no special sticker to break so they can't tell if i've opened it. The machine has a 5 year parts and labour warranty on it, and it's been 3 and a half years now since i've had it. The only thing original from the day i got it is the Case, Audigy Sound card and the floppy disc drive.

I've changed the following

Added another stick of RAM
Added a 3com NIC
Changed DVD-Rom
Changed case fans
Changed Motherboard/CPU together from AMD to P4
Changed Hard Drives from IDE to SATA
Changed RAM again, from PC2700 to PC3500
Added 2 more Hard Drives
Changed a DVD-Rom to NEC DVD-RW 2510A
Changed the CD-RW to Pioneer DVD-RW 109
Changed PSU from Generic Suntec to Hiper 580
Added internal Case fans

Reinstalled windows about 5 times since, it is not the same PC that when i first came through the door.
