Gents I'm looking for an ultra low power dedicated mumble/vent/TS server.
I have a 3mb upload which is very reliable, but looking for the machine. I will be hosting to up to 35-40 players once a week, and up to 10 each night during the week.
Will an Asus EEE 701 Laptop hard wired to lan do the job? That thing is UBER low power and pretty cheap to buy.

Thanks

Well, you never really said a price range and I think ~£120 is a pretty good deal as you could use it as a backup server too ;)

The 701 would probably work - I just checked the specs for TS3 server and they are:

- Intel Pentium III, AMD Athlon XP, or any newer CPU (recommended: 800 MHz or faster)
- 128 MB of system memory (recommended: 512 MB or more)
- 5 MB of disk space

Hehe, yes sorry. If we work on the fact that "free" is my price range then we are working toward a conclusion. The Asus works on a mobile, single core celeron. Clocked at 800mhz. 512 mb ram.
