Hi all just finished building my PC and booted up, install OS. Downloaded the CPU-Z programme and its coming up 1.200 core voltage. Is that normal?

Well it depends on the spec of the PC? some info would certainly help.

If the CPU has a speedstep/cool n quiet enabled then it can decrease the voltage as the mhz drop.

as stulid has said, we need to know what processor you have.

also as stulid has said there may be some power saving devices running like cool n quiet to reduce the processors voltage, so you will want to download a CPU stress tester, like prime95 (its free), run that alongside CPUz and see what the voltage is then

This thread belongs in the CPU section while im at it.

Why do people see fit to ask every question in this forum section? graphics cards/laptops/internet issues, it all comes here when theres perfectly good sub forums for these Q's

My specs are as follows,

i5 2500k
Asrock Z68 Xtreme 4
4gb (2x2) kingston hyper x blu RAM

Because they know you lurk around these parts stulid :p.

1.2v is fine for the 2500K. Run something that will bring the CPU to full load and see what the voltages say then.
