Hi Guys

I have a little doubt, can someone help me?

Is it normal when you are running something that stress your pc and vga to have a little voltage drop?

Asking because i was running furmark and my 12v was about 12.096/ 12.046 and without streesing wa about 12.168

This happens with VGA too

I have 2 GTX 580 in SLI and the 12v is about 12.2 in each one and when it was running dropped to 12.1/12.09...

Thanks

What are you using to measure voltages and what is the make and model of the PSU being used.

PSU is ok, I dont trust software reading for voltages use a multimeter if possible to check.

I know

I`m asking because i`ve lost 2 mobos and 2 psus in about one year, my 24 pin MB and PSu fried, now i use the evga power boost to solve this issue, and i wanna know if it`s really working

But the little voltage drop is ok when playing a game os using more vga or cpu?

Your within the 5% drop which is the recommended max for the 12v line, not sure what else to suggest really :(

Software voltage monitoring isn't anywhere near reliable enough. If you hook up a multimeter to a Molex or something you'll get a more true representation of your power rails.

Sorry my english is not so good

So with this drop you mean that i`m ok right?

Yes, looking at various reviews of PSU they show a slight decrease in voltage as the load increases.

But keep a eye on the voltages and if possible test / check with a multimeter, this will give the best reading.

A digital multimeter is the only way to really test.

I've also got a thermaltake Dr Power which is great for jump starting the PSU without a paper clip. Works a but like a simple multimeter, you can plug stuff in and it will measure the voltage - no load though.
