Hey,

I am trying to set a good voltage for my e8400 @ 3.6ghz, im aiming for around 1.24/1.25V as i know that it is orthos stable at that voltage (due to past overclocks on this motherboard). I have a DFI DK-P35-DS3L and the voltages are given as +mV amounts from the starting core voltage (~1.15v) so if i select +87.5mV, cpuz reads the voltage as correct (~1.2375V). This isnt an orthos stable voltage so i try to up the voltage from +87.5mV to +100mV, however, cpuz doesnt display 1.25v as expected, instead it displays 1.28v which is probably a bit overkill. A few weeks ago when i stepped the voltage to +100mv, it worked, but now it wont.

anyone know why this is?

edit: today cpu-z is displaying 1.296v, it seems to change with every boot which is a pain

thx for the advice mate, bought my e8400 about 3-4 months ago so its new, and the board ive only had for about a month, i was just being pedantic when wanting ideal numbers, but was worried as u say that it could be a sign of wear on the cpu.

thankfully it is running fine, i will look into bios updates and as far as i know im on the latest version of cpuz.

may push for 4ghz later, this was 1 of my only worries before i tried it since im running at 40degrees full load at 3.6hz and that seems fine for an arctic cooler 7 pro.

thanks again, and suppose uve claimed me :P
