Voltage Questions

Since a bios update has allowed me to drop my mem divider im looking at getting more out of my chip.

Currently seems stable folding @ 3835mhz with 1.55v

Can boot into windows at 3991mhz but BSODs as soon as I run linx. Temps currently maxing at around 42'c

Am I safe to try with 1.6-1.65v or am I pushing my luck, a 4ghz athlon x4 would be quite an achievement

1.6 will more then likely give it an ealy death. There are only a handfull of x4 @Gghz your does not seem like it is one of them im afried.
My x4 did 3.8ghz with 1.45vcore but even 1.55 didt wan to go 4ghz oh well

I was under the impression that providing the chip was adequetly cooled you could go past the recommended voltages.

i think you could pull it off

depends on temps. amd cpus are fairly robust in fairness

After folding for a couple of hours at 3.8 it maxed at 46'c so that leaves me 25'c headroom in terms of temp, a 4'c increase with the extra .1v needed over 3.6

I'll give a go tomorrow as I'm out tonight.
