Can voltage sensors be relied on. I don't get it - I thought there was an on-board sensor which may be accurate and may not.

But I thought that all the applications Everest, AbitEQ, SpeedFan would just read from that sensor and therefore display the same thing, accurate or not.

But for +12V I get

Volt Meter reading = 12.18
Abit EQ = 12.08
Everest = 9.06
SpeedFan = 6.4

Don't understand - what is happening?

I have a problem with my PC somewhere it is very difficult to track down when you can't get sensible info.

Cheers,

Nigel

What else can you expect from software?

Obviously last two can't be true because then you couldn't use that computer.

Indeed, but how can it be that bad.

Software can't measure voltage. So hardware sensors on the motherboard do that and present the results to a driver (in the firmware I presume or part of the chipset).

All these tools read from that driver - so how can they possibly come up with different values.

Or alternatively, if they are present values that are upto 50% inaccurate then that is a major bug which I would have thought would be fixed by now.

Cheers,

Nigel
