hello all:D

my amd phenom x2 555 be is oc'd to 3.6ghz idle temps 35c - 36c using intel burn test max temp is 64c

just wondering if i could lower my cpu voltage slightly? it shows up on cpuz as 1.400v would lowering the voltage lower the temps at all?

how much could i lower it buy? would it affect the performance

thanks:D

thanks :D

lowerd my voltage to 1.387v says cpuz 1 increment down :)

ran intel burn on 10 passes i got no errors i hit 54c max full load thats a whole 10c cooler :D

should i lower the voltage even more

is it possible to lower the nb and sb voltages? what would that do

thanks :D

thanks for the replys :)

yes it was the first increment down from 1.4v

first prime ran for 1 hour and reset my pc second time got to 2 hours and got the blue screen 3rd time checked back after 2 hours and my pc was repairing windows :\

ive set i back now to last stable point and am running prime95 just to be sure

so could lowering the voltage cause my system to be unstable what could i do to counter that

thanks

my cooler is a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2 CPU Cooler

got it the other day thought i put it in a bit dodgey the first time so took it out and done it properly today

just to compare to the stock cooler my 555 be is unlocked to a tri core and oc'd to 3.4ghz 1.4v

stock cooler temps idle around 36c to 39c prime95 temps 65c+ if i remember correctly

with the new cooler same oc settings

idle 33c to 35c prime95 temps highest temp 55c

anyway ive left on above settings just lowered the voltage to 1.350v if i remember correctly passed almost 6 hrs of prime95 (thats how long i sleep)

idle temps 29c to 31c prime95 temps 45 max

should i up the cpu to 3.5ghz and run prime95 again?

managed to get a stable 3.6 ghz with 1.4v survived 20 pass intel burn test and around 6 hrs prime95

seems re doing the cpu cooler has improved temp quite a bit compared to the temps in my first post

3.6 ghz 1.4v idle temps now 30c 31c intel burn test i seem to get higher temps with ibt max 51c prime 95 temps max 49c

tried on 3.7 ghz with 1.425v failed on 2nd pass of ibt got blue screen

should i higher the voltage to try stabilize??

any ideas what i should do?

thanks :D

thanks

failed pass 14 0f ibt at 1.450v

trying now at 1.462v

temps are getting a little high in load now though @ 1.462v temps are hitting 65c with ibt

is there any other way to stabilise without putting the voltage so high?

or do you think ive reached my limit?
