Volts Ok!

1.325 is about the average that D0's hit 4.2Ghz on, safety depends much more on the temperatures rather than the volts. Vantage is a very poor system stability test, is it LinX/Prime stable, or is it just for benching? If you want a good measure of if the max temps are safe fire up LinX on max memory, anything under 80 is safe enough.

For temporary benching, anything under about 1.37 volts is ok providing the temps stay resonable.

lol ive had mine at 1.4v since november found u can push to 1.55v any thing more than that and board just resets the bois on my p6t

1.325 is fine @ 4.2 just as long as ur hapy with the temps

Processor lifespan is a function of voltage and of temperatures. Of various other things too, like the ripple from the psu, but voltage magnitude and temperature are the big two. Aside from that I agree with Exsurgo.

Unfortunately you (the OP) haven't bothered to give us an estimate of temperatures, so there's no way we can start to guess how long your processor will last for. If it's below 60 you're fine, if it's over 90 you're probably not, anywhere inbetween there's no way of telling. Most chips should be fine at 1.35V sub 70 degrees, but a few wont be. Hard to tell if you've got a fragile one until it's on the way out.

@hlennie 1.55V for an i7 is a pretty stupid thing to do yourself, when its your own hardware on the line. Don't give out advice when you don't know what you're talking about.

Temps are around the mid 60s in games but do shoot up to 78c in IBT. Iam using a RSX240 and RS120 rads with EK HF block and 5870 in same loop. 3 sharkoon fans on rads. ITs also summer so my ambient temps are low 20'c, today it was 29c

It's a different problem, but those temperatures look a touch high to me. That said, mine are in a much worse state so perhaps I'm misjudging summer.

If you're at 4.2ghz stable, 1.325V, 75ish ibt then I think you're good to go. Certainly I'd be happy with that.

Iam happy with it but will turn htt off as it doesn't help gaming much and produces more heat .
My summers are hotter than in uk both in temps and duration. It has always caused me problems when oc,
more on air than water.
