volume buttons not working on android when locked

this is a rather annoying problem, my volume buttons work fine when using my tablet when its unlocked, but when its locked the buttons skip songs instead?

how can I fix this? is this a bug or feature? running cyanogen mod 9

ahh, you may be on to something there, I'll try sound cloud and see if it does the same thing

edit: just tried sound cloud, tiny shark, rat poison and they all try and skip songs, and rat poison even starts 2 podcasts playing at the same time which is rather annoying

does this happen to anyone else ?

if not then maybe I need a newer build?

System settings > sound > at the bottom "Volume rocker music controls"

But that should only happen if you are long pressing the volume controls.

As above, it's a feature in that rom but should only happen when you hold the button down for a certain amount of milliseconds if you just quickly press it it should still change volume.
