4WD arent they?

There spec'd as being AWD not 4WD, have no idea what the difference between the two are though.

All I do know, is that my Volvo 850 Saloon sticks to the road like **** to a shovel and its only FWD...so Im hoping the V70 R with its AWD system will be even better!

No swearing.

Impressive cars but no more so than anything else of its type - ok, sure, its 1700kg but then it's also 300bhp, so it's hardly miraculous that it lumbers itself to 60 in more time than it takes a heavier, lower powered 540i Touring ;)

Get a 240 - they're about 1250Kg.

Oh and put a B230ET in it; 350bhp, sir.

Quoted for agreement. I'll always regret letting Dad sell his 240, I should have bought it off him.

mmmmm volvo fuel economy goodness. ;)

Great car the R or any recent volvo for that matter. A D5 is also a good choice if not quite as potent as standard a remap could sort that out.

The BMW 540i Touring does have a bigger engine though, and Im guessing lots more torque...I dont know, Im not a BMW fan really.

Still a lovely high spec'd car though at the end of the day, with brilliant Volvo reliabilty. And you dont see to many of them on the road either.

I didnt realise the new Rs were AWD

I always thought a R would be abit of a strange beast to drive, I drive a T5 and the STC kicks in allot, 250bhp is allot of power through the front wheels and I always figured an R would be the same with the flashy lights on the dash flashing more and as S60s have a rep for eating front tyres im assuming this would be better with AWD.

TBH the only thing that will tempt me away from a Volvo next time would be RS audi (4 or 6) but they are just to much wonga.

Im thinking C70 T5 or S60 R next time round but which is better a foldy roof or 50 more bhp and drive on 2 more wheels?

Ive been really impressed with my 850 Saloon (only 2ltr 20v gutless beast :( ) but has been totally reliable in the 3yrs that ive had it, has passed its MOT the last 3yrs with out any problems what so ever, and without any work before hand as well lol

I think once youve had a Volvo, youll be hard pushed to find a car as good...and the plus is there not that common (unlike Audi's, BMW's etc), especially the hot 'R' versions.

Reliability, creature comforts, safety and power are all a big plus to me...sure you could get that with an Audi or BMW, but on there motorways there all two a penny.

Volvo has always meant old mans car, but the T5's and R and far from that and totally understated.

Im guessing after the airfilter & exhaust upgrades you must be looking at at least 360-370bhp?

Who cares about 0-60? You always seem to judge cars on 0-60 times
