i've seen a few looking after 2017 model millage does seem to play a big part of price .. looking for around £18k
whats your collective thoughts ? they seem to be good cars she does 4k miles a yr road tax is £35-180 from what ive seen ..
oh seats need to be leather .. thx

18k to do 4k miles a year stick with the cmax if its working well.
lol your not married then ... not bothered about the money .. i'll get 6k for the cmax .. 40k miles on it new shoes breaks just been done serviced once a yr .. just wondering about volvos ..

I've taken a 2015 hire car XC60 over to Germany a couple of times. Can confirm the model I had did 125mph as per the book and no higher. It was a nice car, I enjoyed driving it.

Just be careful with options. They do go from barebones to absolutely specced to the teeth, make sure you get the important ones, winter pack is expecially important.

Volvos in general have a good reputation for stylish Swedish design and decent reliability and longevity. The XC60 is a nice SUV with an emphasis on comfort. See:

I love driving my Dad's XC60. 2019 model. It's just so well made, driving it is so quiet compared to his old Audi Q3. It's just a nice comfy place to be. I find driving it relaxing haha. His is well spec'd. Powerful engine and all wheel drive and comes with the upgraded seats with the better support - as we found with the leather you could slide around in the regular seats. This is our first Volvo and very impressed with it. In the past he has had and S-Max and two Q3's. Some interior snaps:

I had a 2016 model xc60 diesel for 4 years, it was the R design spec. Best car I’ve had, comfort was unreal, drove well enough for a big car. In 95k miles I had zero issues. For reference, I had an Audi A4 avant before it and I have a BMW 330e now.

up to what mileage would you consider ok on a 2017 ?? i ride bikes .. :)

I dunno, I got really lucky on mine, was owned by an elderly chap in Scotland who passed away and his wife didn't want it, it had seriously low mileage. It's only got 40k on it now, and it's 10 years old, in great condition as well.

I've had it 5-6 years only issue I had so far was one of the wheel sensors needed replacing cheap and easy job, otherwise flawless.

I'll warn you though if you like to DIY stuff, they are fussy on diagnostics and a generic one will not work, you need to get an icarsoft (circa £140) or pirate the official DICE software and cable etc, which can be obtained through "grey" channels, and will also cost you about the same. The icarsoft as well is a bit crap, although it does communicate two ways so you can reset and change stuff with it.

If you get one with an EPB (electronic parking brake) it makes changing the rear pads and discs a bit more involved, although I did manage to do it myself, again the icarsoft worked to be fair.

To answer your question I don't really know, I always try to find as low mileage as possible, people say condition over mileage but ideally both, also rural/motorway miles are better than city miles.

If you could get one with less than 50k I guess that's good?

Actually I lied, I did have one other minor issue, the bonnet sensor failed.

But its a simple open/closed circuit, so I just found the wires that go to it and shorted them, now the car thinks my bonnet is always closed.

I also came up with an ingenious way to to find out whether the bonnet is open or closed without the sensor, you just look out of the ******* window :)

Works a charm.
