Doesnt seem to be a lot being said about the fact that the winner of the Le Mans race was a diesel :P

Normally people jump on the chance to have an argument about diesel vs petrol :P Maybe I missed the thread? :E

It's not the first time they have won with the diesel audi though is it? and you don't hear the petrol heads going on every time a petrol car wins something. Diesel makes sense in a 24 hour endurance race as you need to fill up less. But no one argues that diesel increases economy so nothing really new here.

It's Audi's 6th win (7 if you include Bentley) in 8 starts but this is the first for a diesel, the rest have been the 4l V8 twin turbo R8.

My speakers dont work on my PC in the office but Im assuming that wasnt an actual recording of the car? :p

i have no reason to believe it's not the sound of the actual car.

does sound suspiciously like a tractor though

i was at le mans this weekend, and the audi's are really near silent when compared to the rest of the field. Pretty dam amazing really what they have done.

that audi sounds like they pulled an engine out of a tractor and whacked it in that

U listening to the dodgy clip or the audio from the video i posted? :p

watch the video :P thats what it sounds like

Remember reading an article about the VW Golf GTDI racing league they have :P they journalist said it sounded like the diesels were out on a sunday drive compared to the petrol cars which had been racing earlier since revs are much lower :E
