Is the graphics card in this machine any good to play the next generation games on medium settings? I have looked around on the Internet and most decent machines with a good graphics card (128MB Minimum) are over £500.

Is the Vostro 1400 any good? Does anyone have it that can recommend it?

Are there any obvious disadvantages/flaws with this laptop?

Your comments and opinions will be very much appreciated! Happy Christmas!

The 8400 graphics card will not cut the mustard for next generation games at medium settings. Have a look out for an 8600GT or better still nvidia have just launched the 8800M gpu recently and they are slowly starting to appear in higher end laptops. To play the latest games needs a good graphics card even at lower settings. The processor is fine but the gpu is lacking in power.

Hi there,

I've been using the vostro since the start of uni and i am very happy with it. I only do light gaming but it runs perfect.

I would recommend the 1440 x 900 though :D
