Hi,

(apologies if this is a bit of a noob question)

I have a 10 month old Vostro 1500. Originally came with Vista 32x home premium. Following loads of problems that I won't go into here I've switched to XP Pro SP3 VL which I had from my last laptop (Dell Inspiron).

OK question is- Which drivers do I now need to install and where should I get them from?

I have the dell drivers disk that came with the laptop, but are they vista specific or will the do a job in XP too?

I looked on the dell website, but it's not very obvious which drivers I need (audio I have installed along with BIOS update, gfx I will get from laptopvideo2go but not sure what else I need: Chipset? Wireless? Quickset?

Any advice would be much appreciated,

Cheers,

Fred

Below are links to some of the XP drivers.

Notebook Software

Network Card

Touchpad/Trackstick

Intel Chipset

Sound Card

The drivers should be installed in the following order:

Notebook Software
Intel Chipset
Video Adapter
Network Card
Audio Adapter
Internal Modem
Wireless Network Card
Touchpad/Trackstick

(Other Devices)

Bluetooth Card
Dell Wireless Card
Mobile Broadband (3G)
PCMCIA/Smartcard

More drivers can be had from Here

However since I don't know the full spec of your system click on the above link and enter your service tag then check the spec of the system you have and then download the remaining drivers including the video, WLAN etc.
