Vostro power lead query.

My wife has a Vostro 1700 & she just told me she got a message saying the battery was critacally low then it powered down, this was with the power adapter plugged in.

As far as I can remember the power adapter had a small light (think it was green) on it. This isn't lighting at the minute. Could someone confirm there is a light which lights up when the adapter is plugged in, as I think it's at fault.

It's not a faulty fuse as whenever it's plugged in a quiet high pitched beeping sound occurs, which isn't there when it's not plugged in.

If someone with one could just check theres a light on the adapter I'd be grateful.

I can confirm that the Dell chargers have a little green light on them, when they are plugged into the mains.

If not you can always get a replacement off that famous auction site - my mate's dell adaptor died and the new one only cost £30.
