Vostro-RAM or CPU?

I need a cheap laptop for the internet and Word documents, and am eyeing up Dell's Vostro. I can afford the cheapest one, and either an upgrade of the CPU to dual core or an upgrade to 2GB of RAM. Which one would you recommend? Personally I am looking at going with the CPU upgrade as the RAM can be upgraded much more easily later on...

RAM. Especially if you're going to use Vista. I think you'll see a far larger performance boost by doing that that upgrading the CPU.
