Hi,

I am going to be buying this graphics card Saphire ATI Radeon HD 3870 in a few days but £8 for shipping? where do you get "Voucher Code" so I could get a little knocked of the price as I am about £3 short.

PS - I have allmost built a PC it only needs a Graphics Card, Hard Disk and DVD Drive, If I try and boot without these would it send out a beep code or anything as when I try and boot the system fans come on but the CPU one does not and it does not even beep.

Thankyou for any advice

I think you will need to wait then until you have £3 more as those vouchers only go for special promotions or may be if you buy a lot. There was a 7.5% voucher not so long ago for a few people that completed a survey.

OK, Any idea about the PS part. Another site said its an Intel processor and it and the fan only starts when it reaches a certain temp any idea if its right?

It's a Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600

LOL your cpu fan should be on all the time unless you got water its that simple.Have u got the power to run all your pc.

Ha might have something to do with no hard drive. If not as i said cpu fan should always be on.

that's what i was about to say... and a CPU will shut off quick quick with no power to the fan... is there an OS on the hard drive? is there a bootable disc in the DVD drive?

Most modern boards by default give a bios "press F1 to continue" error if the cpu fan is not connected.
You can then turn this off in bios.

On the Asrock board I was running in the summer with a 2180 in it, the fan didn't kick in straight away, only span up if it warmed up.
