VPN error help needed

Hi

I need some help diagnosing this VPN error please. Our VPN was working fine and then just stopped working. We are running server 2016 and using a PPTP VPN connection.

When I try and connect via VPN from home it says VERIFYING YOUR SIGN IN INFO and then the password box comes up. Before I can type in the password in the background text it will say:-

Can't connect to ABC VPN . The connection was terminated by the remote computer before it could be completed.

How do I diagnose this further?
 
If the remote computer has terminated it, Can you access that and look at the logs? It's probably something simple like a setting mismatch.
 
Maybe a daft question but is your router blocking it? I know the virgin kit used to be set by default to not allow VPN traffic.

Sometimes you miss the most obvious things. This made me remember that a while ago I had to factory reset the Draytek router we have and by default it uses the router to process VPN rather then forward the request on.
